Children's dentistry
A child's first appointment with the dentist counts for a great deal. It shapes how they feel about every visit that follows and how willing they are to work with the dentist. So the choice of practice deserves some thought.

We treat children!
Young patients are a big responsibility. We know that it is down to our dentists whether children come to think of the practice as a good place to be. We do our best to make that happen, but we need your help: don't wait until toothache is what brings you to the dentist. As a parent you play an active part in looking after your child's mouth, and you set the example for eating well and cleaning teeth properly. A child can have a first preventive check-up at the age of two or three, so they get to know the practice before anything starts to hurt, and we know from the outset what is happening with their teeth. We are glad to be part of that important experience and to help build the habit of looking after your own health from an early age. Our dentists look after children from the first check-up through to fillings in baby teeth.
A dentist for your child: why does it matter?
Regular appointments give us a chance to catch a cavity in a baby tooth while it is still small and the child cannot feel it. Baby teeth fall out after a number of years, but they matter enormously while a child is growing: they clear the way for the permanent teeth, help with speaking and with clear pronunciation, and do the work of chewing. That is why they deserve the same care as adult teeth.
Worth remembering
Sometimes decay or cavities appear despite a good diet and careful cleaning. And sometimes a child damages a tooth in the thick of play or in a fall. We know that is part of growing up and finding out about the world. We are here to help your child when it happens.
To make treatment something a child can enjoy, we offer colourful fillings: pink, orange, blue and green.
